A large manufacturing employer in Princeton is ceasing operations in 2026.
Ingersoll-Rand Industrial U.S. Inc. gave notice of layoffs on Friday to the state through the “WARN” or Illinois Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act. You may better know the impacted business as Gardner Denver. 103.9 WLPO News has since learned that the company will cease operations in Princeton in March. Production at the Princeton plant will be absorbed by other locations, including facilities in Alsip and Elmhurst.
A representative with Ingersoll-Rand Industrial tells 103.9 WLPO that employees will be provided severance and job placement services. They're encouraged to apply at other company locations.
Gardner Denver manufactures compressors, blowers, and vacuum pumps on North Euclid Avenue in Princeton.
