A manufacturer in Putnam County is cutting its workforce.
According to a filing with the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, Mennie Machine Company in Mark has told the state of planned layoffs. The filing was made Tuesday and lists 17 “scheduled layoffs.” The listed first layoff date is July 31st. 103.9 WLPO News has reached out to Mennie Machine Company for more information on the layoffs.
The company off Route 71 in Mark has been around since 1970. They specialize in producing industrial machinery.
The Illinois WARN (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Adjustment) Act requires employers with 75 or more full-time employees to provide the state notice of mass layoffs.
