The city of La Salle has been awarded a $650,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to rehabilitate approximately 10 homes within its city limits. This grant aims to assist low- and moderate-income homeowners in making necessary improvements to ensure safe and sanitary living conditions. Eligible uses of the funds include structural work, electrical and plumbing upgrades, new appliances, flooring, and modifications to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
An informational meeting was held on February 20, 2025, at La Salle City Hall to discuss the grant and application process. Residents who were unable to attend can still apply for the program. Applications are available at City Hall, and interested homeowners are encouraged to apply promptly, as the program intends to renovate about 10 single-family homes. Priority will be given to individuals with low income, seniors, and those with disabilities.
