Thanks to the hard work of Sheffield Mayor Steve Endress, the City Council of Sheffield, Bureau County, Andy Laurent of Iowa Interstate Railroad, Duane Calbow of the North Central Illinois Council of Governments, and North Central Illinois EDC, a 100 acre Sheffield site owned by William John is now being marketed.
The property is located 4 miles from the Interstate 80 interchange, is on U.S. Highway 34 and 6, and is located in the new Sheffield TIF District with utilities at the western boundary. This is the only Rail served Industrial Opportunity Zone site in the NCI Region, and also is eligible for significant Enterprise Zone tax benefits.
