Archer Daniels Midland Company announced on Friday June 2nd that it will construct a flour milling facility in Mendota, which is located in the northern part of LaSalle County. "The mill will grind different varieties of wheat in order to meet the demand of bakers throughout the Midwest, according to the company’s announcement."
ADM will be able to utilize the company’s existing rail loop positioned on the east side of I-39 and south of the BNSF main line. ADM currently operates a facility in Mendota, which is about 90 miles west of Chicago. The city will need to run water and sewer lines under the interstate in order to support the mill. The plant is scheduled to be opened by the end of the third quarter of 2019.
