Starved Rock Wood Products Expanding in Mendota

New location will result in 100 new jobs

MENDOTA — Starved Rock Wood Products plans to move into the former R.R. Donnelley building and create an additional 100 jobs, once a new TIF is created by the CIty.   The company currently employs 65 people at 1605 Division Street and at a supply location in Wisconsin. 

He said his business will add 100 more jobs if it can move into and equip the R.R. Donnelley building, the 130,000-square-foot plant on U.S. 34 west that has been closed since May 2012.

Investor Peter Limberger, who operates CL Enterprises along with wife Inga Carus, said Starved Rock Wood Products not only will add those 100 good-paying jobs at Mendota, it will have some of the most highly automated machinery in the United States. The company is known for speciality staircases for luxury homes, and produces a variety of high end woodwork for homes and commercial businesses, including cabinets, flooring, exterior doors, wood trim panels.
