Dave Argubright was named to serve as Illinois Valley Labor Management’s new representative on the Economic Development Corporation of North Central Illinois board, succeeding Brad Bruins.

A little more than a week after setting up a tax increment financing district for “a new manufacturer,” the Peru City Council has called a special meeting 5 p.m. Thursday, April 28, to vote on a sales and pre-development agreement between the city and the developer.

The agenda lists the city’s agreement will be between Building Materials Manufacturing Corporation, a Delaware company. The city has said not made any announcements about the developer, saying it will reveal who it is at a future meeting. A legal notice published in the NewsTribune notifying residents of the expansion of an enterprise zone identifies the parent company of the development as GAF Materials, LLC. The company identifies itself as a leading roofing shingles and materials manufacturer.

HENNEPIN (FEBRUARY 24, 2022) – Today, the Marquis Industrial Complex announced an 873-acre expansion of the complex located in Hennepin, Illinois. The land acquisition will add to the adjoining 2500 acres surrounding the Marquis Energy Ethanol Plant and enhance the world-class logistics at the complex by adding a mile of riverfront access, four miles of rail and direct access to Interstate 180 on-ramps and off-ramps.

Marquis Sustainable Aviation Fuel has partnered with LanzaJet to build an integrated sustainable fuels plant in Hennepin.

The companies entered into a memorandum of understanding Thursday to construct a 120 million gallons per year fuel plant. This plant will use low-carbon intensity feedstocks to produce sustainable aviation fuel.

The Regional Economic Development Corporation of North Central Illinois Promoted a New Executive Director

The Economic Development Corporation of North Central Illinois (EDCNCI) has a new Executive Director. Gina Czubachowski accepted the promotion to Executive Director.

The Economic Development Corporation of North Central Illinois is one of 10 applicants for the Build Back Better Regional Challenge, a competition funded by President Joe Biden’s American Rescue Plan.

Administrative Manager Gina Czubachowski said the EDCNCI applied because money from the grant would aid its goal of selling North Central Illinois as a place where industry can grow.
